Wondering what's new in the London Art scene?
Here are a few newspaper cut outs that I've recently been looking at during my travels to and from London.
Fig 1. Gory Loony Toons
Artist: James Cauty Website
This artist has produced portraits for an exhibition in London which contain classic cartoon characters killing each other. Bloody hell! It's easy to forget how much violence there is in children cartoons. The happy music and funny sound effects can distract from what the cartoon characters are actually doing.
Fig 2. 18-Carat Gold Kate Moss
18-Carat Gold statue of Kate Moss! It cost £1.5 million to make (a lot more in dollars). The artist hopes to sell it for £10 million! This is Kate Moss were talking about. Kate Moss!
Fig 3. Concrete Aerosol Statues
Artist: D*face Website
D*face is a graffiti artist. This recent project shows him erecting (lol) these concrete spray cans all around London. This is illegal urban Art at it's best. I love it!
